Free Summer Credit Recovery for NKSD High School Students
North Kitsap School District is offering a free online summer program for students in grades 9–12 who need to recover credit for high school courses.
Program Details:
-
Who: Current NKSD students in grades 9–12
-
What: Free online credit recovery
-
When: July 6 - August 7, 2026
-
Where: Online - Classroom 500 at North Kitsap High School will be available Monday-Thursday from 8:00-12:00 for students to have access to the instructor and place to work on their course work. A summer school teacher will be available for help and direction during those times as well. Students may check out Chromebooks when they attend their check in on July 6th or 7th.
This flexible program helps students get back on track academically without interfering with summer plans. Priority is given to upper-grade students. Space is limited, but we maintain a waitlist and open new spots as students complete their courses.
All students who are Freshmen, Sophomores, Juniors, or Seniors during the 2025-2026 school year and have failed/NC one or more terms of a course before the Spring Semester of 2025-2026 will need to sign up by June 18, 2026.
Any students who fail a Spring Term course will be allowed to enroll in person with a high school counselor on the first two days of the summer term - July 6th and 7th.
Enrollment will be closed to everyone at 12:00 PM on July 7, 2026.
Important Notice: We have a limited number of credit recovery seats available. Priority will be given in the following order: Class of 2026, Class of 2027, Class of 2028, Class of 2029. Once seats are filled the remaining individuals will be placed on a waiting list. As students complete classes and seats become available, we will backfill from the waiting list as long as there is adequate time to complete the coursework before the end of your assigned time.
Important Mandatory Meeting
ALL Students must attend a meeting with the summer school staff on July 7th and 8th at the North Kitsap High School Computer Lab 500.
If you do not attend this meeting you will be placed on the waitlist. Students must arrive on time.
This meeting will help students get their initial login of enrolled course(s) and ensure that they are successful in understanding how to navigate the program. Subject.com is a new platform.
